Occasionally someone will take me out to lunch and really take an interest in the drama that I’m going through. They nod, listen, show support, encourage, and even pray.
But then I never hear from them again.
That’s when I realize —
1) They were just curious about the latest gossip in town, 2) they feel like hanging out once is their good-enough deed for the day, or 3) they did it to impress me and puff up their ego.
It’s a bit heartbreaking because —
1) They were really good at acting like they cared, 2) I was excited to have someone who could walk through my struggle, and 3) it’s so hard to find trustworthy friends these days.
Of course I’ll continue to open up to people. It won’t stop me and I’m okay with taking the chance.
But please don’t be a drive-by witness. People are not hotel rooms: you can’t just check in and check out. If you’re going to be there, then be there. And really care.

It annoys me when someone doesn’t know how to pick themselves back up and all they do is self-loathe while expecting other people to solve their problems for them. What’s worse is when they forget that there are people who genuinely do care about them, but they’re too damn blinded by their self pity to realise that. Well, usually. Because I know that sometimes people do give up on someone for being so ‘difficult’ to deal with— and it is so, so terrible that human beings tend to choose the easier path, but darling.. Wake up. No one is going to save you. People will support you and guide you when they can, but chances are no one is going to ‘save you’. That decision to better improve your life is entirely up to you.
It’s up to you to wake up in the morning and ask yourself what you’re going to accomplish that day rather than being apathetic until the moon rises once again. Surely, choosing to give in to your shadows is easier. It is easier to be engulfed by the cloud of negativity. But that type of thinking will not get you anywhere. Don’t expect things to get better so quickly— as this expectation usually leads to disappointment. So pace yourself. In fact, don’t even pay attention to the days. Just do what you have to do to keep yourself going towards improvement until you look at the calendar one day and say, “It’s been that long..?”

220 @ Ultimate Brawl 2013
AHHH!!!! This has amazing written all over it!!! seriously!!! Although I can understand if people don’t agree. It takes a lot to see (mostly the appreciation for dance alone) the beauty in the set. To me, 220 really stands out compared to other teams through their unique style & creativity. Also, the songs you hear in their sets, you most likely won’t hear in other team’s sets. I haven’t felt this excited over a set in a while! So I felt like a tumblr post was necessary. :). Definitely making me rethink my decision to stop dancing after this school year ends. I really want to explore styles that you don’t see everyday, like this for example. We’ll see.

if i was famous i’d just tour around the country without telling anyone and go to random college campuses late at night, and i’d wait until i saw one person walking by themselves and i’d walk behind them and put my hands over their eyes and say guess who and when they turned around it’d be me and they’d be like omg and then i’d say “no one will ever believe you” and i’d just sprint off into the moonlight
